Questions, answers

What exactly is Pulse?

Pulse is a platform that helps people create, host and join weekly, real-life activities across the city.

The activities themselves are hosted by everyday people - not by Pulse. We simply make it easier for them to happen, and easier for others to join. Think of Pulse as the glue, not the organiser.

Do you have a building?

No. Pulse lives wherever the activity happens - studios, gyms, parks, cafés, homes, shared spaces.

Is this for meeting new people or coming with friends?

Both.

Come with friends and see them more often without any planning involved.

Or come alone and get to know some really cool people over time with absolutely 0 pressure.

What kind of activities can I do?

It depends on what our hosts create, but expect a mix of weekly, small-group activities like:

- Sports & movement: e.g. football, volleyball, running, dance
- Recovery: e.g. yoga, stretching, walks, mobility
- Creative: e.g. jam sessions, writing groups, hackathons, workshops
- Social: e.g. go-karting, chess, beach parties, game nights, paintball

Basically: things people already enjoy doing - just easier to show up to, and easier to keep doing.

How small are the “small group activities”?

Most sessions sit around 12–25 people. Some are smaller (about 8), some can go up to 40 - depending on the activity.

Always big enough to not feel awkward,

but small enough to actually recognize and interact with people.

How does it work?

You pick something. You sign up and pay in-app. You show up in-person. You come back next week (or try something else). And you keep doing it. That’s it.

How is this different from normal events apps or meetups?

Most event apps focus on one-time events and meeting new people. The core of Pulse is the weekly in-person experience - so you run into the same people again, across different activities. And those people don’t have to be strangers. They can be your existing friends, friends of friends or new people.

What if I come alone?

Don’t worry! Most people do. Our hosts are trained to welcome newcomers and our regular members will show you the ropes. After just 3 events, we’ve found that most people start feeling like regulars themselves!

How much planning does this actually require?

Very little. You just pick a session and go. Maybe invite a friend in 2 seconds. Pretty straightforward.

How much does it cost?

Your first activity is just €1 if you redeem the offer by joining the link here. All other sessions offer pay-per-activity rates. You join what you want whenever you want.

We also offer monthly and yearly memberships at discounted rates to our regular members. It is currently invite-only. Get in touch if you’d like an invite!

Can I host something myself?

Of course - and at Pulse you don’t have to do it alone. We match you with a small hosting crew - people who have as much passion and complementary skills to yours so hosting stays fun and sustainable. We also offer guidance and support along the way. If you'd like to try it out, get in touch with us!

Is this just in Tallinn, Estonia?

Tallinn is where we started. Other cities are coming next. If you wanna host something in your hometown, get in touch!

Do I need to download an app?

No!

Pulse is a web app, which means you can:
1) either just open it in your browser and use it there, or
2) add Pulse to your home screen, so it will function just like any other app, including push notifications.
Simply open www.pulsewrld.com in Safari or Chrome on your phone, tap the Share button or three dots menu, then select “Add to Home Screen” and tap Install or Add. Then navigate to your profile and toggle on ‘push notifications’. You’re all set :)

Who are your hosts?

Our hosts are everyday people with a passion they want to share. Pulse does not hire anyone or organise any activities ourselves. We just give people the tools and support to bring their visions to life.
